It's taken 16 years to get to this point, but it is now official. Jane Wenner is looking to sue her husband, Jann Wenner, the man who founded Rolling Stone magazine. The filing of the case is reportedly raising concerns over how a long, drawn out battle might erode Wenner's media holdings. Attorneys in Pennsylvania with expertise in no-fault, low-cost divorce, have to join in the speculation.

This particular case is in unusual for a number of different reasons. According to news reports, it all started 16 years ago when Mr. Wenner left his wife and moved in with his gay lover. The New York Post says the initial split spurred worry about the financial future of Wenner's business. Mrs. Wenner's father provided money that got Rolling Stone going and she has long held a partnership role in the company. Nothing happened after the split.

With news now that the divorce is finally moving ahead some sources say it can mean only one thing - that the Wenners will be selling. There's some thought among experts that New York's law allowing gay marriage may be a factor in the decision. That law makes it possible for Wenner and his lover to make their union official. That in turn apparently removes possible complications that were believed to be present had the Wenners tried to sell earlier.

However this case winds up playing out it is very likely to be a messy, costly affair. That wouldn't have to be the case if it were possible for cooler heads were able to prevail. In Pennsylvania it is possible for couples, even those with children, to avoid the hassle of courtroom battles, as long as they can agree on how to deal with all the specific issues that need to be addressed. And a lawyer with deep experience in no-fault divorce can ensure the dissolution is quick and will be binding everywhere.
